Several times I have been retained by established companies to assist them in creating a new MLM channel of distribution for their established line of products.
 
Sometimes, we (my consulting group) have entered into longer term consulting relationships to help companies through their first year of business which can be the most critical year in terms of success and survival. Lets face it, if you can't stay in business for at least one year then any long range strategic plans are worthless.

The stories of new MLM companies and their incredible corporate growth and remarkable Distributor incomes have fueled the industry and surrounded it with an aura of excitement and positive expectations seldom seen in other businesses.
 
These positive expectations or motivators include a better lifestyle, lucrative financial rewards and personal recognition amongst their peers.
 
Ocasionally, Distributors want to start and own their own company, like the owners of Amway, who left one company to start one of their own and they became Billionaires.

Most new companies are started by Distributors/Representatives or entrepreneurs of other companies who understand sales and marketing very well.
